When I launched the Pet Model Database last night, I had no idea how popular it would be. A huge number of you have signed up your beautiful pets and a huge thanks goes out to you all! I’m really enjoying reading about and seeing photos of all your pets and coming up with new shoot concepts to try for future test shoots.
For those who don’t already know, the Pet Model Database is where you can express your interest in having your pet model for test shoots. I often do test shoots to try out new locations, poses or photographic techniques and require a pet to model for me before I use these on clients. It is very important to me that I continue to push myself to improve the standard of my work, and these test shoots allow me to do this.
So how does it work?
Those interested in signing up for the Model Database can add their details here. This sends all the information to me which I can then refer to when I have something new I need to test out! This database is open to all different types of animals – who I contact will depend on what idea I have to try out and the location of the shoot. By signing up the the database you are not guaranteed a shoot, however if I have an idea that I need to test that your pet would suit then I will get in touch.
Test shoots are not client sessions. Client sessions are tailored to what my clients would like and I strive to meet the requests my clients have for their shoots. These test shoots take place at the location and time of my choosing and I will have a specific look I have decided on, with set shots I would like to try. All of the images from test shoots may be used for the marketing of my business online and in print media. The length of these shoots will vary but will generally stay around the 1-2 hour mark. As a thank you to you and your pet for your time, you will receive at least five digital files from your test shoot for printing and online sharing free of charge as well as the option to buy professional quality prints (perfect if you’re wanting prints that will last!) from me at a discounted cost.
If you would like to sign your pets up to the Model Database to be considered for future test shoots, head over to the Model Database page. 🙂
P.S. Fleur and her handsome horse Hank (pictured above) were great models for an equine test shoot I did a couple of weeks ago. We tried out several new poses and got several shots that we both love. Thanks Fleur!
