The theme for Project 52 this week is “Print” – what have we printed of our pets?
I’m a big believer in printing your photos. Digital is great because we can save huge numbers of photos in a tiny space, but when it comes to enjoying your photos, nothing beats beautiful big prints on the wall. Unlike digital images which can get lost at the back of a hard drive, never to be seen again, printed images bring all of the things and family members that are most important to us, where we can see them and enjoy them every single day. I’ve printed a few canvases of my animals and have them scattered around the house, but my favourite is still this A1 canvas print of a macro image I took of Opie a few years ago. This was one of the first photos I ever took with my first “real camera”, and despite a few beginner mistakes I made with this photo back then, it captures one of my favourite things about Opie – his gentle, wise nature through those soulful eyes. It’s a bit tricky to bring Opie indoors, so I went to him! I think the little grubbamuffin was quite happy with it. 😉
