Fresh air, a beautiful location and a dog or 12 to work with – that’s my idea of a great day!
My name is Kelly Wolfe and I am an award winning photographer, photographing dogs throughout the Waikato and around New Zealand. I have photographed all sorts of dogs, but am most well-known for my colourful images of dogs in action, in beautiful outdoor locations and stunning photos of dogs at agility shows throughout the Waikato.
During the week I am a bull farmer, working with our team of 12 dogs (that’s two of them on the right – Flick the Border Collie and Flight the working Heading Dog) to muster cattle and also managing the client orders/web design/marketing side of the business. I also help run DC Rescue Dogs – a non-profit organisation which rescues and rehomes over 200 dogs of all different shapes and sizes every year. I regularly have foster dogs at my place, with a special interest in working breeds.
I am also passionate about helping new photographers and am one third of the “Pet Posse”, a collaborative effort to educate pet photographers throughout the country, and run the “NZ Photographers for Animal Rescue” group on Facebook, which connects rescues with photographers to help rescue animals attract their forever homes.
Favourite food – Pizza, preferably Chicken & Cranberry or Hawaiian.
Favourite music – Anything country. My playlists have a lot of Eric Church, Keith Urban & Chris Stapleton.
Favourite weekend activity – Finding places for walks with the dogs. Lots of great walks around the Franklin & Waikato areas!
Best photo location – Anywhere with a great sunset and beautiful trees.
Best camera – The one you have with you. I use a Canon 5D MkIII for my professional work.
